Thyssenkrupp’s hydrogen business heads to stock market

Thyssenkrupp legt los: Wasserstoff-Tochter Nucera soll an die Börse

Thyssenkrupp's new CEO, Martina Merz, is pushing the company towards a "new era" with her latest move. Thyssenkrupp's hydrogen subsidiary, Nucera, is set to go public and raise a significant amount of money, according to reports. The IPO is expected to take place this summer on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Nucera is expected to benefit from the growing importance of green hydrogen, which is produced using renewable energy and has zero carbon emissions. The subsidiary offers services such as consulting, engineering, and turnkey solutions for customers in the chemical, steel, and other industries. Its services enable the decarbonization of industrial sectors and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

According to reports, Nucera is expected to raise an estimated €611 million to €711 million through the IPO. Thyssenkrupp's CEO has called the move a "key factor for the decarbonization of industry."

Thyssenkrupp aims to become a frontrunner in the hydrogen market with its subsidiary Nucera. The company plans to participate in green hydrogen infrastructure development, including the construction of electrolysis plants, as well as consulting on the optimization of existing systems.

The IPO is part of Thyssenkrupp's broader effort to restructure its portfolio and focus on sustainable technologies. The company has recently divested some of its businesses to focus on its core competencies and reduce its debt.
